"Let us thank the Lord for His Steadfast love. Let men consider the steadfast love of the Lord."  - Psalm 5

"These thoughts from the fifth Psalm aptly express our prayer of thanksgiving at the close of the first 100 years of Methodist endeavour in Central Hawke's Bay. It has please Got to keep us a small but closely knit group who have been given strength and trust in his promises. The Church played an activce part in the infant settlement of our district and gave men courage to build and develop the land. Today she stands in the midst of a beautiful part of our country serving a thriving and modern community. The story briefly told in the pages of this pamphlet seems often to be one of a struggling church beset by many difficulties. There is, however, another thrilling story to be told of the work wrought for Christ - a story only partly known in this life - of men abd women drawn to Christ, of solace brought to the mourner, the help to the needy and comfort to the sick. The young have been guided into the paths of righteousness and the aged have been cared for."
